The Opportunity: The Activity Aide plans, develops and runs a variety of meaningful recreation and leisure pursuits which promotes wellbeing, purpose, creativity, a sense of community, lifelong learning, and fun. What Is In It For You: Assists in development, planning and implementing daily recreation and leisure activities, both in the home and in the community, using a collection of holistic resident information and choices, and in a manner that reflects AgeCare’s philosophy and approach to resident programming. Develops and facilitates one to one support and resident self-directed activity. Assists in creating and maintaining engaging spaces/environments in the home that support meaningful resident activity and participation. Assists with supporting the Resident and Family Councils as required. What You Will Need Prior experience working with seniors, preferably in a long-term care setting. Graduate of a post-secondary diploma or degree program in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation or other related field from a community college or university. Enrolled in a community college or university in a diploma or degree program in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, or other related field with the intent to successfully complete the program within three years of being hired.
