Job Description This role is intended to support the Global Medium Voltage Commercial Engineering and the Global Sales Organizations in the pre-sales pursuit of Medium Voltage Projects involving Medium Voltage Drives and/or Medium Voltage Motor Control Centers. This role exists within an Engineered-To-Order (ETO) environment, where there are customizable solutions to meet customer-specific requirements. The business-level deliverable of this role is to enable growth in the MV Global business, by providing technical and thought leadership on MV technical solutions meeting customer needs. Your Responsibilities: The MV Commercial Engineering Specialist – Technical Solutions is responsible for supporting Global Sales and Distribution in the pre-sales pursuit of opportunities for our Medium Voltage suite of products including MV Drives and MV Motor Control Centers as a Technical SME Responsible for supporting pre-sales technical discussions with external stakeholders including End Users, EPCs, System Integrators, OEMs, Consultants Responsible for supporting complex quotation activities; utilizing product and application knowledge to analyze specifications and application details to define the most effective solution Responsible for using Risk Assessment principles and judgement in determining feasibility of Rockwell MV solutions Responsible for pre-sales power system analysis review including harmonic studies and IEEE harmonic standard compliance assessments Responsible for empowering the commercial team to properly quote complex quotations by detailing the technical requirements to enable accurate material and labour assessments Responsible for preparing and presenting complex technical materials to improve the effectiveness of the commercial engineering and sales resources. This can include quotation tools and guidelines, product and solution presentations, best practices, white papers, conference content, school training materials and others Act as a coach and guide for other members of Commercial Engineering & Sales in understanding real world customer power control problems as applicable to MV products - Provide feedback to the MV Business on application requirements for MV products; interface with Development and Product Management on Product Development process; assisting in framing Product Requirements and Specifications Occasionally provide support on highly-technical post-sales product and application issues affecting commercial engineering; work with or lead cross functional teams involving Quality, Technical Support and Development to resolve post sales product and application issues. Provide cross functional support in a team environment to other departments when necessary or as needed to ensure customer expectations are met. This can include complex customer factory tests, product qualifications, etc. Communicate with the Product Management team to analyze competition, recommend new offerings, or suggest refinements for success Must be willing and able to travel to customer sites, and special events. The Preferred - You Might Also Have: University or College Degree in Electrical Technology or Engineering or Bachelor's degree Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial applications; demonstrating technical & commercial experience with global applications utilizing RA Medium Voltage Power Control products and peripheral equipment such as motors, switchgear, and transformers, PLCs.
