Job Summary Job Description What is the opportunity? As the Senior Manager Payroll Delivery Canada, you build influence and work collaboratively across HR functions and all levels of RBC. You will lead the Manager of payroll processing together with a team of payroll professionals through the timely and accurate delivery, standardization and compliance of payroll services in Canada, advocate for a seamless and integrated payroll experience through innovative use of technology and lead payroll modernization initiatives to drive efficiency to further strengthen a strong risk management function. What will you do? Accountable for the accurate and timely coordination and preparation of payroll for multiple pay frequencies, for RBC employees in Canada Oversee management of changes to SAP relating to employee life cycle and payroll by planning, prioritizing and managing system change requests and providing approval to proceed with changes, after successful execution of user acceptance testing. Ensure compliance with RBC internal control requirements, regulatory requirements and RBC HR policies and programs in the delivery of payroll Ensure effective operational controls are in place, properly operated and reported; that defects and failures are highlighted and reported; that remediation plans are developed and actioned Drive optimization initiatives to eliminate manual intervention, streamline processes prior to conversion to new Payroll application. Support Project team in identifying processes managed outside SAP to influence adoption of new Payroll application Lead a high performing team which executes the highest standards of life cycle and payroll delivery in support of managers and employees in Canada and retirees in Canada and internationally What do you need to succeed? Must Have: Extensive experience with employee life cycle and payroll management in a large organization. Strong experience with HR and Payroll Software applications. Experience of working with SAP an advantage. Considerable experience of the principles and operation of payroll tax requirements essential. Good understanding of internal controls and payroll accounting Nice to Have Experience in managing relationships with payroll vendors is an asset Project management experience, leading people managers is an asset.
