Bow Valley College is seeking a strategic, entrepreneurial, and relationship-driven Business Development Officer – Global Revenue and Strategy (BDO-GRS) to take our international reach and revenue generation to the next level.

About the Role
As the BDO-GRS, you will play a critical role in expanding Bow Valley College’s presence and impact through international education, corporate training, workforce development, and consulting. You’ll lead sales and pipeline development initiatives, uncover new business opportunities, and work cross-functionally to deliver programs and services that generate sustainable revenue.
Reporting to the Manager, Global Engagement, you’ll collaborate with industry, government, and global partners to deliver results that align with Bow Valley College’s strategic priorities.
What You’ll Be Doing
Business Development & Revenue Growth
Drive lead generation, sales strategy, and client engagement to meet and exceed revenue targets.
Build and manage a robust pipeline for international and domestic markets.
Conduct competitive market research and identify new product/service opportunities.
Develop business cases, pricing strategies, grant writing, and client proposals.
Coordinate RFP responses, contract negotiations, and partnership agreements.
Analyze sales metrics and trends to refine strategy and improve performance.
Global Engagement & Strategic Partnerships
Represent Bow Valley College at international conferences, trade missions, and global events.
Cultivate high-impact partnerships with industry, governments, economic development agencies, and education providers.
Collaborate on initiatives that address global skills gaps, labor market trends, and innovation opportunities.
Facilitate inbound visits, stakeholder tours, and international delegations.
Marketing & Promotion
Work alongside marketing to craft compelling campaigns that promote global training solutions and partnership benefits.
Present to key audiences to promote Bow Valley College’s reputation as an innovative, industry-responsive institution.
Identify and communicate new market trends and engagement opportunities.
Project Management & Reporting
Lead and manage strategic projects across multiple timelines and stakeholders.
Track deliverables and ensure projects align with revenue and engagement KPIs.
Report outcomes and provide insights to support continuous improvement.
What You Bring
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in business development, international engagement, or corporate partnerships.
Proven track record in sales pipeline development and meeting revenue targets.
Demonstrated connection to and awareness of local and global industry environment, industry and market trends, new disciplines and emerging technologies
Demonstrated experience in project and research management
Strong attention to detail, highly entrepreneurial, creative, open-minded, persistent, and highly collaborative
Experience in grant writing pipeline development and management
Experience in market research, partnership development, and contract negotiation.
Cultural intelligence and global market awareness.
Willingness to travel internationally and work flexible hours as needed.
An equivalent combination of directly related education and experience may be considered
Preferred:
Master’s degree in Business, International Relations, or related field.
Demonstrated experience working in or with post-secondary institutions.
Strong grant-writing and strategic planning experience.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Budget management and entrepreneurial mindset.
If your education was received internationally we will require you provide an international education assessment through IQAS, WES, or one of the other nationally designated organizations upon hire.
