To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com What You’ll Be Doing As the Director of CIBC’s Digital Banking API Development (eBanking) team, you will lead a high-performing team of designers, developers, and application consultants responsible for developing and supporting CIBC’s Online & Mobile middle-tier APIs. In this leader-of-leaders role, you will provide technical leadership to ensure the successful design, development, and delivery of Digital Banking API services for CIBC and Simplii Financial. You will oversee collaboration with other development teams to define integration contracts and ensure seamless interaction between services, aligning with business needs and technical standards. You will also ensure the security, scalability, and performance of Service APIs—including Cloud Native services, Akamai protection, and API security scans—while leveraging API management platforms to optimize API usage. This role demands maintaining a high standard of delivery, efficiency in execution, and strong documentation practices. Under your leadership implement projects in a timely fashion that are of high quality, low cost and on budget. Who You Are You are a seasoned technical leader. You have 5+ years of demonstrated experience in a leadership role with a focus on technical architecture, application development and solutions design. You have Technical Depth and Knowledge: You bring a strong technical background in API development and design, as well as cloud-native services. You can guide architectural decisions and ensure the delivery of secure, scalable solutions. A minimum of 10+ years of hands-on Java development experience is required for this role.
