As a Back-end Software Developer Senior Specialist you will be a member of a high performing team, delivering critical data solutions for financial markets for US markets. Role Responsibilities : As Back-end Software Developer Senior Specialist your focus will be developing and implementing software solutions. Besides working closely with your colleagues within the team, you will also work closely with other Nasdaq teams spread globally. • You will be responsible for the development, implementation, testing, and maintenance of software applications. • Be involved in the full software development life cycle, from planning and designing to coding and testing. • Work closely with product managers, and other team members to understand business requirements and translate them into software solutions. Also be responsible for providing user support, training and documentation. • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software applications. Serve as technical expert on development projects. Support, maintain and document software functionality. • Participate in software design meetings and perform code reviews. You will also be responsible for training and guiding less experienced team members. We expect you to have: (Minimum Qualifications) Java - 7 years of experience as a Java software engineer. AWS experience. SQL, RESTful APIs, Spring and Spring Boot expertise. Build tools: Maven and Git Proficiency with Linux commands and utilities including Bash scripting. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills that enable you to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Good communication and collaboration skills to work well with other developers, partners, and users. Passion for learning new technologies and staying updated with industry trends that help you improve your skills and knowledge. Creativity and innovation in creating solutions that meet user needs and expectations and deliver value to the business. Attention to detail and quality assurance that ensure your software products are of high quality and meet the standards and requirements. Adaptability and flexibility to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and cope with changing priorities and deadlines. A curiosity for the financial industry, with an interest in learning about the markets, products, and services that Nasdaq offers. Education Qualification: Degree qualified in a subject area related to Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience Preferred Qualifications SaaS experience Understanding of Data Lakes and Data Warehousing Familiarity with big data tools and technologies CI/CD pipeline experience Containers expertise (Docker and Kubernetes) This position can be located in Toronto, and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment (at least 2 days a week in office, subject to change), providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
