Are you the one we’re looking for?
We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Cleaner who demonstrates our values of compassion, accountability, responsiveness, and empowerment to our clients, families, and each other.
To ensure a high standard of cleanliness and neatness, the Cleaner performs general housekeeping activities within the established guidelines for health and safety, infection control, and quality management. The primary location for this position is Burlington, with occasional shifts possible in other Halton or Hamilton locations.
This position is a unionized, part-time, permanent role. The rate of pay is $19.41 per hour. This position is a minimum of 20 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
Interact with program clients in a welcoming and professional manner.
Complete cleaning duties around the facility, such as residential room cleaning, deep room cleaning upon vacancy, office and bathroom cleaning, etc.
Complete a daily, weekly, & monthly checklist of cleaning requirements.
Sort, wash, dry, and fold bedding.
Responsible for keeping all areas in good order, well supplied, and clean up to established health and safety standards.
Operate various types of cleaning equipment to complete required tasks.
Provide support for other staff in emergency situations.
Work with volunteers and staff in a team approach.
Participate in unit/staff meetings.
Other duties as assigned.
What you will bring:
Minimum high school diploma with further courses in janitorial, hygiene and infection control.
Two (2) years’ experience in maintaining the cleanliness of a similar facility.
Sensitivity to work in a culturally diverse program and the ability to work with marginalized persons.
First Aid/CPR and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training.
Must be able to travel to work in Burlington and Hamilton.
We are seeking a flexible candidate for 20 hours per week, covering day, evening, and weekend hours, with the possibility to cover additional shifts.
