Job Summary As Senior Manager Compensation, you will be responsible for supporting the design, development and implementation of compensation programs for the Capital Markets business. You will provide business partners and senior management expert advice and analytics on all aspects of compensation programs, policies, initiatives and solutions, ensuring that they have a clear understanding of the financial and human capital impact of their HR decisions. Job Description What is the opportunity? As Senior Manager Compensation, you will be responsible for supporting the design, development and implementation of compensation programs for the Capital Markets business. You will provide business partners and senior management expert advice and analytics on all aspects of compensation programs, policies, initiatives and solutions, ensuring that they have a clear understanding of the financial and human capital impact of their HR decisions. What will you do? Develop compensation strategies and frameworks that support business goals and objectives, and be responsible for the advancement of compensation solutions. Design base salary and variable incentive programs that drive revenue generation ensuring programs are motivational, financially viable and generate the highest return on investment and are aligned with intended behaviors and regulatory guidance. Assist in the development and preparation of RBC Human Resources Committee and Board related compensation updates and program design documents. Manage a full suite of detailed year-end variable compensation analytics, considering multiple data points including employee performance, business performance and market data to arrive at a well-informed compensation recommendation. Proactively stay abreast of developments in the external market with whom we compete for business and talent, becoming an expert on relevant competitor compensation practices, key business strategies and responses to regulatory guidance. Work with Business Partners and HR Advisory teams to drive compensation solutions that support major business change initiatives (mergers, divestitures, re-alignment of roles, etc.). Manage the development of forward looking compensation analytics and research, collection, modeling and analysis of compensation data, providing Business Partners with meaningful and actionable insights and recommendations to help them more effectively manage their compensation spend and increase employee engagement. Design and integrate compensation communication, ensuring HR Partners, People Managers and employees receive timely and easy to understand information on their compensation programs. Drive efficiency and effectiveness through continuous process improvement, automation and streamlining, especially in the area of compensation analytics. What do you need to succeed? Must-have: 5-7 years’ experience in Compensation and/or Finance, ideally within a Capital Markets environment. Undergraduate degree in Finance, Commerce, Human Resources, Organizational Behaviour or similar. Strong analytical skills with an ability to analyze complex situations, synthesize information, understand issues, identify options, and support sound decision making; and integrate information from different sources into a coherent view.
