Evergreen is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Supervisor to join their team and oversee custodial operations at a prominent facility in Kelowna, BC. This full-time position (40 hours per week) is ideal for a proactive leader with strong interpersonal and organizational skills who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and to standard following the overnight shift. You will play a key role in maintaining service quality by supervising staff, fostering a culture of accountability and support, and maintaining clear communication with both the client and internal team. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires a balance of strategic oversight and active operational involvement.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Oversee day-to-day site operations to ensure all client requirements and service standards are consistently met;
Recruit, train, and onboard cleaning employees, team leads, and project personnel;
Motivate, coach, and support several team members to foster performance and professional growth;
Enforce company policies through fair performance management and, when necessary, corrective action;
Proactively address operational challenges, adapt to shifting priorities, and implement practical, low-risk solutions;
Respond promptly and effectively to urgent or unforeseen janitorial needs and emergencies during the day to ensure a safe and clean environment is maintained at all times;
Manage inventory and supplies to support efficient service delivery;
Ensure site safety compliance, adhering to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment;
Regularly inspect the quality of cleaning work to ensure it meets standards and take corrective actions as needed;
Foster positive client relationships, addressing concerns and feedback promptly;
Monitor and manage operational costs, ensuring efficient resource use within budget;
Oversee scheduling and shift coordination to ensure adequate employee coverage;
Provide hands-on leadership and site support as needed.
Requirements
Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting is required;
Post-secondary diploma in business or a related field is considered an asset;
Supervisory experience is required, preferably experience managing and leading unionized employees;
Strong understanding of the Employment Standards Act and Occupational Health and Safety Act;
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other performance management software;
Basic knowledge of business accounting practices;
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills;
Experience with janitorial machinery (e.g., auto scrubber, swing machine, floor burnisher, etc.);
Experience with project work methods and procedures (e.g., stripping and waxing floors, steam extraction carpet cleaning, etc.);
Strong ability to prioritize tasks;
Proactive and capable of working both independently and as part of a team;
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours at a time
Ability to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 20+ kg as required

This is a full-time opportunity, typically Monday to Friday (8:00am – 4:30pm), with flexibility based on client needs. The Site Supervisor is required to be available after hours to address any urgent situations, ensuring the smooth and successful operation of the site. The position offers a competitive compensation ranging from $60,000 to $65,000 annually, depending on experience, with an expected start date of July 15th.
