The Opportunity The Finance Controllership Manager, FCC will be accountable for managing Fidelity Clearing Canada's external audits and internal controls program, and the monitoring and testing of those controls to ensure their continued efficacy. This role is the primary liaison for internal and external audits and is an advisor on internal controls, and industry regulations for our clients. This role will also be on the front line of managing client requests of the Finance department, including reporting and processing items and client inquiries. What You’ll Do Responsibility for ensuring that the firm is current on compliance with regulatory changes and rules impacting FCC Finance. In conjunction with business partners, this role is responsible for drafting Finance regulatory related policies and procedures. Oversees the client billing function for 100+ clients and works to find ways to improve process/enhance accuracy and timeliness of the billing process and resolve inquiries Plan, test, report and remediate internal controls; communicate and train employees on operational controls and procedures; maintain a strong culture of operational controls and procedure. Ensures all operational and risk management procedures are effective; create policies and procedures for internal controls management to address business and regulatory concerns; and assess WSP (written supervisory procedures). Responsible for testing of all internal controls and issuing reports to FCC management team to ensure their continued effectiveness. Conduct periodic reviews of daily departmental work flows As the primary liaison with internal and external auditors, this role would work with the auditors to gather information in order to complete audits. Advises our clients on internal controls procedures and CIRO audits and regulations. Provides support to clients on their month end reporting and processing needs. Contributes to the year-end FORM 1 preparation and ensures regulatory compliance and audit issues resolved in a timely manner What We’re Looking For 6+ years of experience in an internal controls role in a broker/dealer environment 3+ years of experience in an operational role in a broker/dealer environment University degree related field or equivalent experience 7+ years of experience in financial analysis and financial planning and 3+ years of people leadership experience What You Bring Strategic thinking and ability to orchestrate use of business analytics for decision making Strong business acumen and ability to demonstrates big picture understanding of business, interrelationships, priorities Excellent time management skills and strong attention to detail Proven strength in coaching/employee development Ability to effectively liaise, build relationships/use appropriate influencing strategies with stakeholders at all levels of organization Excellent communication skills with ability to translate complicated concepts into business terminology and ability to effectively make presentations to diverse internal audiences.
