How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? The main object and purpose of this position is to ensure the accurate preparation, loading, receiving and shipping of cylinder products in order to satisfy internal and external customer needs. The incumbent must also maintain the organization of the shipping facility & forklift maintenance, all while promoting ALC’s health and safety objectives. 1. Ensures adequate customer service and shipping: Supplies customers promptly and accurately with cylinders as required. Loads trucks. Visually checks for appearance and defects. Supplies accurate shipping documents, as well as placards to all customers and carriers. Maintains supplier files for packing slips and correspondence. 2. Manages receiving process: Receives product, checks for defects visually, verifies product to packing slips. Confirms that all paperwork pertaining to the shipment is accurate. Takes corrective action in the instance of overages, shortages, damaged or incorrect items, and improper documentation. Communicates with the team on all such issues. 3. Maintains stock levels and manages the facility (to be adapted according to the customer center’s organization): Ensures that adequate stocks are maintained. Maintains bin locations. Applies labeling and organizes the warehouse for optimal picking and inventory counts. Sorts and stores materials and equipment. Ensures that the warehouse is kept organized and clean. Clears snow away from docks, stairs, etc. Picks orders for customers and satellite locations. Maintaining racking and equipment is a good working order. Identifies the need for new equipment. 4. Quality / Safety: Understands and implements required procedures (Standard Operating Instructions) as established in the relevant Quality Manual. Establishes a quarantine area and places all damaged and defective material there for assessment. Takes part in anomaly hunts and inspections and when needed, becomes involved in any investigating team. Ensures that all products are moved and stored in a safe manner. Reports any safety concern to a member of the safety committee. Secures building at the end of each workday. Maintains daily, monthly, and annual checks of all welding products, equipment, and supplies. 5. Process Improvement: Works with his/her team as well as with cross-functional teams to continuously improve the work process. Analyses his/her activities, identifies causes of dysfunction and proposes appropriate corrective measures. ___ Are you a MATCH? Diploma: High School diploma and/or combination of education and experience in welding/Industrial products and gases. Training: Dangerous Goods certificate, WHMIS certificate, forklift license (mandatory) Knowledge: Google applications, inventory systems and warehouse management.
