Job Summary Job Description What is the opportunity? A member of RBC Phillips, Hager & North Investment Counsel, the Associate Investment Counsellor (AIC) works with experienced Investment Counsellors (IC) to construct customized investment strategies for high-net-worth (HNW) individuals, trusts, and charitable foundations. The AIC is responsible for assisting ICs in implementing the strategy and managing and monitoring the client portfolios on an ongoing basis. Under the mentorship of an IC, the AIC must exhibit client acquisition skills and the ability to actively close HNW target prospects. The ultimate purpose of this role is for the AIC to develop the necessary skills to transition to the role of IC over a two-year period. What will you do? Develop internal and external referral networks Develop and execute a business plan Develop, document, and maintain a profile for each client including next steps to increase and solidify relationships Attend client meetings as required, including prospect and annual review meetings Conduct effective client discovery Implement action plans and proactively manage client portfolios; monitoring and rebalancing portfolios ensuring consistency with Investment Policy Statements and portfolio risk management strategies and policies Act as primary contact for clients with respect to questions and inquiries regarding their portfolios Ensure that all actions taken meet RBC Phillips, Hager & North Investment Counsel and industry compliance requirements What do you need to succeed? Must Have University degree, preferably in Business or Economics Chartered Financial Analyst designation Portfolio management experience Ability to communicate with clients about investment, economic, financial, and taxation issues Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Nice to have Minimum of 5 years of professional experience within the investment industry CFP certification What’s in it for you?
