BC Place is hiring an Event Optimization Manager to lead the enhancement of operational efficiency, ensuring exceptional event execution and guest satisfaction. This role is focused on optimizing processes, improving service delivery, and implementing innovative solutions to drive the success of BC Place. The Event Optimization Manager will also be responsible for working on a variety of special projects related to events and guest experience What you will do: In close collaboration with the Director, the Event Optimization Manager creates a comprehensive strategic response of event operations outlining the organization’s processes in delivering diverse events with increasing complexity while working closely with all departments to enhance the overall guest and client experience at BC Place; Collaborates with stakeholders to define goals and objectives, identify target audiences, influencers, and internal and external partners, and establish key performance indicators for all event types; Stays informed about industry trends through relationships with industry partners and similar venues, and leads the implementation of new programs and initiatives related to event planning and delivery; Analyzes current event planning and execution processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement Collects feedback from team members, stakeholders, clients and participants to gain insights into pain points and challenges faced during event management; Establishes efficient processes and workflows for operationalizing multiple events simultaneously, including logistics, staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation across the Events & Guest Experience Team; In collaboration with PavCo’s Enterprise Applications team, optimizes the utilization of project management tools and systems to streamline communication, tracks progress, and manages timelines for event planning and execution; Benchmarks performance against industry standards and best practices to identify gaps and areas where the organization can improve its efficiency; Conducts root cause analysis to understand the underlying factors contributing to efficiency gaps, such as outdated processes, lack of automation, or communication breakdowns; Formulates strategic solutions and initiatives to address identified efficiency gaps, focusing on areas with the highest potential for improvement; In collaboration with the Director, Events & Guest Experience, allocates budgetary resources and secures necessary approvals for implementing recommended solutions; Develops detailed implementation plans outlining timelines, milestones, responsibilities, and key performance indicators for measuring the success of efficiency improvement initiatives; Builds templates to schedule events based on past experiences and combines scheduling knowledge for new types of events; Manages ad-hoc projects to align with and achieve organizational objectives. What you will bring: Minimum 5 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role within Project Management, ideally in events and guest experience or related fields; Familiarity with project management tools and systems; Proven experience in strategic planning, operational efficiency, and resource allocation; Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and interpret data to inform decision-making; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working with diverse teams and stakeholders; Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at one time; Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in the event planning and delivery industry; A proven track record of using innovation in support of events and service excellence delivery; IT, digital and media literate including the use of desktop programs, tablets and social media; Proficiency with EBMS (Event Business Management System) a definite asset; Proven track record and history of being driven by service excellence; Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively in a time-sensitive environment. The salary for this position is $77,488 - 96,860 Offers will be in line with PavCo’s internal pay equity and qualified candidate’s experience and education.
