UPX (Unified Payments Experience) team is growing, modernizing the architecture
with the use of bleeding edge technolgies. We are looking for exceptional talent
to rapidly build applications that use exciting new AWS services, Reactive
Native technology, Open Source frameworks, and Server-less architecture. We
solve complex engineering problems from securing customer’s PII end to end or
building a highly reliable set of Tier-1 services with 5 9s availability. We
influence all Amazon customers that leverage payments experience to pay for
their products or services. We also have a number of contributor teams that
leverage our federated architecture to enhance the customer’s payment experience
by launching new Payment Methods.

Key job responsibilities
What will you do?
- Accelerate the development and expansion of UPX driven Payment Experience WW
- Coach, mentor, and lead varying levels of software engineers to deliver
business value across multiple business units.
- Bring your creativity every day to solve complex problems for our global
business operations;
- Continual improvement of the systems as they will need to scale and continue
to meet the demands of a rapidly growing, dynamic business.
- Improving cycle times, maintaining system integrity, developing
integration/efficiencies within the system and automation of manual processes.
Key job responsibilities
You will play a critical role in shaping the definition, design, roadmap, and
development of multiple products - new and existing, in addition to:
- Hire, retain, and grow top engineering talent within your group.
- Be a clear technical voice, working in partnership with your teams to deliver
an architecture which will scale with the needs of the Business
- Quickly and reliably deliver high quality technical solutions that delight our
customers.
- Work on business strategy to define a compelling product roadmap.
- Clearly communicate risks and success at the executive level as you define and
execute on a vision for products.
Basic Qualifications: - 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services
experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full
software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards,
code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing,
certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams Preferred
Qualifications: - Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams,
and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product
features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of
Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective,
product software engineers

The base salary for this position ranges from $171,400/year up to $286,200/year.
Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related
knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of
compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in
addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
