Based in a world class Horizon North camp facility, the regular shift for this position is 20 days on and 10 days off, with 11-hour workdays.The General Helper is responsible for assisting in the overall kitchen operations and maintenance as well as cleaning and sanitizing of designated kitchen areas, tools, equipment, pots, and dishes.This position is safety sensitive and requires drug and alcohol testing and a fitness assessment, as a condition of employment. Your work will include:Wash, scrub, clean, and sanitize designated kitchen and dining areasClean kitchen and dining room floors and tablesClean refrigerators, ovens, and other kitchen equipmentWash pots, dishes, glasses, cups, etc., after each meal and as requiredDeep cleaning as requiredRestock and rotate desserts, sandwiches, beverages, and condimentsAssist in loading, unloading, and placing supplies and inventoryEnsure health and safety regulations and quality standards are maintainedWHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?Enjoy excellent work-life balance with a 20 days on/10 days off rotation.Extended health and dental benefits that are fully covered.Travel time is paid.Whereas other companies are downsizing, we are growing!Be #1 on day 1 by joining an industry leader.Follow Horizon North on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.QualificationsWHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?You have a minimum 6 months’ kitchen or catering experience in Food Service Industry, hospitality environment or remote lodge settingYou are fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skillsYou have at least FoodSafe Level I. SafeCheck advanced food safety certification or HACCP certification is an asset.
