You will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of our kitchen, playing a key part in maintaining a smooth and safe culinary environment. You'll work closely with our talented culinary team, providing essential support to keep our kitchen running seamlessly.
What You'll Do:
As a key team member of our team at The Dunfield, you will be responsible for:
Performing thorough daily cleaning and sanitization of all kitchen work areas, including countertops, stovetops, ovens, fryers, sinks, and food preparation surfaces.
Executing general and special cleaning duties throughout the kitchen as required, including sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning walls, and ensuring hand sinks are clean, stocked with paper towels, and have hand soap.
Clean food preparation and production areas diligently after each use and at the end of shifts.
Load, operate, and unload the industrial dish machine efficiently, ensuring proper cycle temperatures for effective sanitation.
Washing dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans both by machine and by hand, as needed, ensuring all items are spotless and ready for use.
Keeping the dish room clean, organized, and free of clutter.
Monitor and maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for the dining room and kitchen, ensuring timely replenishment.
Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss.
Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies, communicating needs for reordering.
Responsibly bag and transport kitchen trash and recycling to designated disposal areas according to schedule and established procedures.
Assist with stocking supplies such as food and utensils in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and salad bars, ensuring organized storage.
Deliver and replenish staff meals in the staff room and ensure the cleanliness of the serving area.
Who You Are:
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Previous experience in a professional cleaning or kitchen support role.
Familiarly with WHIMIS is an asset.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
Ability to carry or lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to push/pull carts and equipment as needed.
