This Project Manager will manage project in the Kitchener -Waterloo, Oakville, Brantford and surrounding areas.
The Electrical Project Manager plays a critical role in overseeing new construction and renovation projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. They work closely with Site Supervisors, Superintendents, Vendors, Engineers, and key stakeholders to drive project success. Multiple projects, ranging in size and complexity, are managed simultaneously.
This individual must be goal-oriented, highly organized, and an exceptional communicator both inside and outside the organization. A deep understanding of building construction and diverse electrical installation methods is essential. Role and Responsibilities
Develop project schedules integrating Kraun work with the customer's timeline
Price and obtain approvals for proposed change orders before doing any work outside of the contract
Coordinate on-site material rental/purchases with other departments
Attend site and pre-construction meetings and create comprehensive meeting minutes
Ensure Site Supervisors have current contract documents and complete all assigned paperwork
Monitor schedules and response times to Request for Information (RFI's) and other documentation with support from Project Coordinators
Monitor & update all financial aspects, including forecasts, cashflow projections, and billings
Implement recovery plans for schedule or budget risks
Assist Sales & Estimating in final proposal negotiations
Oversee all project aspects, including project document archiving, maintenance and warranty manual creation, and deficiency resolution
Proactively identify issues and have a solutions-oriented approach
Work with the Planning Department to reduce costs and interferences
When visiting construction sites, ensure Kraun is following all company policies and procedures, resolving issues with the Site Supervisor(s)
Foster strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members through effective communication, responsiveness and collaboration
Respond to documents such as site reports
Lead and participate in dispute and claim negotiations
Review contract documents (i.e., specifications, drawings, contracts) for scope clarity, and role delineation and respond accordingly
Follow-up with suppliers, sub-contractors, engineers, architects, and owners to maintain project momentum
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
309A Construction-Maintenance Electrician License or proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager
Preferred Skills
Minimum five years of work experience in Industrial-Commercial-Institutional electrical installation
Knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Code, fire alarm code and Ontario Building Code
Must be detail-oriented and possess effective English written and verbal communication skills
Practical interpersonal, organizational and planning skills and experience managing complex projects
Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision
Ability to understand all types of drawings and technical specifications
Excellent computer skills using Microsoft suite and able to quickly learn software programs
Excellent at fostering relationships inside and outside of an organization
Comfortable in a schedule-driven environment and ability to constantly meet deadlines and manage work tasks efficiently
Thorough working knowledge of the electrical construction industry
