Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise day-to-day accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and General Ledger functions. Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff to support career growth, team performance, and succession planning. Manage and complete the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting. Perform and review balance sheet account reconciliations and variance analysis to ensure the integrity of data. Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and US GAAP across all transactions and reporting activities. Coordinate the revenue recognition process in accordance with accounting standards and Thermo Fisher Accounting Policy. Manage all government remittances, including GST/HST, and other required filings. Coordinate corporate income tax filings and support other tax compliance requirements. Review OCOGS accounts to validate accuracy and accurate classification of transactions. Coordinate annual physical inventory counts and review audit results. Coordinate annual updates of standard costs by the Operations team, and review DL/OH rates for accuracy and changes. Participate in the evaluation, implementation, and integration of financial systems and process improvements. Collaborate on projects and ad-hoc initiatives to support business goals. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred! Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience. Solid understanding of US GAAP and other relevant accounting standards! Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
