Position Summary:
The Prep Cook/Server is a vital member of our Food Services team, responsible for preparing ingredients, assisting with meal preparation, and serving meals in a safe, sanitary, and courteous manner. This role ensures the highest standards of food quality, cleanliness, and customer service to meet the needs of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Prep Cook Duties:
Prepare ingredients (washing, peeling, cutting vegetables, portioning food, etc.) for meals under the direction of the Cook/Chef.
Assist with basic food preparation and cooking as needed.
Ensure all food is prepared and stored in accordance with food safety standards.
Keep prep areas clean, organized, and stocked.
Label and date all stored food items and maintain proper inventory rotation.
Report any equipment issues or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately.
Server Duties:
Serve meals and beverages to residents in a respectful, friendly, and efficient
Clean and reset tables between meal services.
Wash dishes and sanitize kitchen and dining equipment as needed.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is an asset.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices (Food Safe Certificate preferred).
Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Compassionate, patient, and respectful toward seniors and other residents.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Able to lift up to 25 lbs and carry trays or food items safely.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Working Conditions
Work shifts may include weekends and holidays.
Must follow all health and safety protocols and wear appropriate uniform and non-slip footwear.
