Position Overview The Manager, Food Procurement plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless supply of high-quality, cost-effective food products to seasonal and year-round lodges. This position supports the delivery of exceptional guest experiences by streamlining procurement processes through strong vendor relationships, innovative digital tools, and strategic sourcing. The ideal candidate will bridge cross-functional teams, improve communication with the lodges’ teams, enforce food safety standards, and drive continuous improvement across the supply chain. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Support a culture that prioritizes all aspects of safety, the best possible experience for our employees and guests, recognizes our responsibility to the communities and mountain environment we are so privileged to operate in, and achieves leading financial results. Help develop and implement strategic goals and objectives aligned with the overall CMH business strategy. Develops and implements key performance objectives to meet business and guest expectations. Plans and participates in meetings with key leadership and project teams as and when necessary and provides necessary inputs for the timely completion of tasks. Ensure all procurement activities comply with health, safety, and food quality standards. Oversee and coordinate seasonal inventory planning and order management, over our different seasons (Operating seasons, off-season projects, Fall Loads). Coordinate and execute central food procurement for all lodges. Collaborate with culinary, logistics, and other internal teams to align procurement schedules with operational demands. Maintain and distribute accurate and current order guides to the culinary teams, as well as ensuring up-to-date information is in our inventory management and ordering system (Business Central). Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and performance reviews to guarantee timely deliveries and product quality. Train and support culinary teams in ordering procedures and act as the point of contact for supply-related issues. Support the warehouse team during food deliveries and loadings. Utilize digital tools (e.g., ERP, dashboards, analytics platforms) to improve efficiency and visibility in procurement operations. Source and evaluate local vendors and Alterra Mountain Company partners to enhance guest experiences and reduce costs. Maintain and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Monitor market trends and drive innovation and continuous improvement in procurement practices. Implement risk mitigation strategies. Manage multiple projects and effectively prioritize tasks, responsibilities, and goals; use goals to guide actions and create detailed action plans. Help develop and support implementation of OHS, sustainability, and DEI initiatives. Train, participate in and provide support, as required, during emergency response situations. Support guests and employees in the field program during area visits, as needed. Minimum Qualifications Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Hospitality Management, or relevant experience in a related field. Three to five years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain, or culinary purchasing, preferably in a multi-unit or hospitality setting, with a proven track record of success in driving operational excellence and cost control. Strong understanding of food safety regulations and quality assurance standards. Strong experience and ease in using ERP systems, procurement software, and data analytics tools. Food Safe Certification, an asset. Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Qualities Deep understanding of vendor management, contract negotiation, and seasonal purchasing strategies. Skilled at managing multiple and short ordering timelines and adjusting procurement strategies dynamically. Ability to leverage data analytics for forecasting, performance tracking, and decision-making. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners. Proficiency in digital procurement tools and inventory systems; able to drive system adoption and training. Committed to process innovation, risk mitigation, and professional development. Working Conditions Physical ability to perform the duties of the role and ability to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position up to 50 pounds regularly. Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a daily basis. This position requires you to work on evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of the business. This position will require frequent travel to CMH areas, as well as other business-related travel.
