About the Role
Canadian Blood Services if looking for two Regular Full-Time Laboratory Assistants Production to join our dynamic Supply Chain Operations West Team in Vancouver.
Formula for success
Drawing on your laboratory experience, you will be receiving, assessing and producing whole blood, apheresis platelets and plasma into requested blood components
Utilizing your knowledge and understanding of blood component production, you will be assisting the laboratory manager in the development and evaluation of procedures
Using your excellent organizational skills, you will be involved in the maintenance of appropriate documentation and records related to inventory in compliance with Canadian Blood Services operational procedures and work instructions
Applying your ability to be proactive and ensure excellence., you will be performing routine maintenance of equipment and work areas to ensure safety and quality of blood products
Desired education and skills
Completion of Grade 12 plus Laboratory Assistant Certificate and one year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Ability to deal with others effectively
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
Ability to organize workload and function effectively under pressure
Ability to operate related equipment

What you can expect
Schedule 0600-1400; 1400-2200 and 2200-0600 rotation. Days will depend on what is being covered.
