The role of the IT Project Manager is to lead, organize, and manage IT projects in an effective, timely manner. You will lead challenging projects of various sizes and complexities directly, delivering on time and on budget. Calgary Co-op has many projects occurring simultaneously, some of exceptional complexity, including software development, integration, and infrastructure upgrades.
Responsibilities:
Using the established set of tools, standards and processes to ensure that IT projects are successfully planned, initiated and completed.
Managing project risk by arranging for periodic quality assurance and risk reviews.
Advising IT management regarding risk profiles for projects, and collaboratively developing risk mitigation plans with stakeholders.
Perform business analysis work for own small to medium size projects.
Evaluating the effectiveness of risk mitigation activities and advising project teams and project executive sponsors of needed changes
Identifying and managing dependencies and resolving cross-project scheduling and resourcing issues
Developing project plans and associated communications
Managing project budgets.
Directing the preparation of weekly reports for all projects
Identifying and bringing together project resources, including IT and vendor project leads, required internal personnel, business leads and third-party consultant.
Maintaining the IT project life cycle process as defined by the PMO
Qualifications:
University degree college diploma in Information Technology
Three (3) years proven experience in in project management, including the design, development and implementation of software and hardware solutions using project management principles and methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban & iterative PM methodologies)
Strong familiarity with project management software (MS Project, JIRA)
PMP certification preferred
Effective business collaboration and expectation management skills
Knowledge of service and application delivery
Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in critical situations
Highly self-motivated and directed with a strong customer service focus
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excels in a team-orientated, collaborative environment
