We AIM for excellence.Job DescriptionWhat you’re responsible for: Preparing and reviewing documentation needed to complete tax provisions and filings, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timely submission. Managing the completion of tax filings & payments. Coordinating with external tax preparers and auditors.Identifying and mitigating risks related to tax compliance or disputes. Maintaining robust processes and controls to ensure accurate reporting and compliance. Optimizing tax positions while adhering to regulations.Developing and implementing tax strategies to optimize tax benefits and minimize liabilities. Offering tax advice to internal teams on various projects and transactions. Providing insights and recommendations to support business decisions and strategic initiatives. Monitoring and assess the financial impact of tax changes on the business.Leading and coordinating tax audits. Preparing documentation, responding to information requests, liaising and resolving any disputes with taxation authorities.Identifying and implementing improvements in tax processes and systems. Ensuring efficient and effective tax operations through best practices and technology.
QualificationsTo join our team: You have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or Master’s degree in Taxation or completion of the In-Depth Tax Program is an asset.You have minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate tax functions.You have demonstrated expertise in Canadian tax regulations and reporting requirements. Strong understanding of corporate tax compliance, planning strategies, and risk management. US tax experience is not required but is an asset.You are capable of receiving complex tax-related questions from internal stakeholders, conducting thorough research and providing accurate, well-reasoned answers.You have excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial professionals. Proven ability to collaborate across departments and lead initiatives effectively.You have experience with tax software, CaseWare and/or Taxprep is an asset.
