One of our companies is currently looking for a Senior Backend Engineer – Stream Processing in Canada.
This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing technology team working on a mission-critical project focused on enhancing driver safety. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will design and implement highly scalable, reliable, and efficient backend systems that support real-time data streaming and analytics. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring advanced features to production, helping scale infrastructure to support millions of users. Accountabilities:
Design and build scalable, high-performance backend services with a focus on availability, fault tolerance, and observability
Develop and maintain stream processing applications using tools like Kafka and Flink
Collaborate with data science teams to deploy and integrate ML models in production
Ensure data integrity through rigorous validation, sanitization, and QA processes
Optimize backend performance through profiling and system tuning
Contribute to system architecture and design decisions for backend infrastructure
5+ years of experience in backend or software engineering roles
Proficiency in at least one core backend language (e.g., Java, Python, Go, JavaScript)
Strong hands-on experience with Kafka, Flink, and AWS
Solid understanding of building and optimizing real-time stream processing applications
Experience with system programming and performance optimization
Proven ability to work independently and solve complex technical problems
Bonus: experience working with geospatial data or in high-growth startup environments
