Your Opportunity
Stantec’s HVDC Center of Excellence is looking for a Senior HVDC and FACTS Project Engineer to work with our globally recognized team on HVDC and FACTS projects around the world. As an HVDC and FACTS project engineer you will support our clients by performing front end engineering design activities, developing technical specifications, evaluating tenders, reviewing design submissions, witnessing factory tests and supporting commissioning activities. The position also involves participating in business development activities, participating in industry technical committees, writing technical papers, as well as preparing and presenting technical presentations.
Your Key Responsibilities
Knowledge of the application and operation of HVDC/FACTS.
Knowledge of HVDC/FACTS design including knowledge of valves, valve cooling, reactors/capacitors, transformers, controls etc.
Experience in preparing technical specifications and tender documents for HVDC converters and FACTS devices, evaluating bids, performing design reviews, witnessing factory tests and on-site commissioning.
Knowledge in the control and protection of HVDC/FACTS technologies including witnessing and reviewing results from factory and on-site testing.
Knowledge in studies associated with HVDC/FACTS and their application in power systems
Knowledge of applicable codes and standards related to HVDC transmission and FACTS.
Strong oral and, written skills.
High level of interpersonal skills.
Willingness to travel.
