As a key member of our team, you will leverage your technical skills, project delivery expertise, and leadership abilities to manage a diverse array of multi-disciplinary planning, design, and construction projects for municipal water and wastewater systems. This includes biological and mechanical treatment facilities and related infrastructure. We are looking for a self-directed individual who can lead and supervise complex teams, mentor staff, and demonstrate a strong commitment to the water and wastewater industry.
Based in Burnaby, British Columbia, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of complex water and wastewater treatment projects across North America. Our dynamic work environment will help you grow and strengthen your abilities through diverse projects focused on water and wastewater treatment and process mechanical design.
The ideal candidate will have experience as a consulting engineer designing water/wastewater projects for municipal clients. This role will require a balance of technical leadership, engineering, and design coordination.
Your Key Responsibilities
Work on all sizes of complex water and wastewater design projects and participate in multi-disciplinary teams through planning, design, and construction for municipal clients.
Perform engineering design tasks on assigned projects under supervision of the Project Technical Lead or Project Manager, including engineering drawings, engineering reports, presentations, and required applications to regulatory and/or funding agencies.
Design coordination and/or project management experience would be an asset.
Participate in client project requirement meetings and value analysis and cost estimating.
Involved in the permitting process of projects, which may require meetings with clients, contractors, reviewing agency personnel and governing entities.
Manage and lead junior team members while working on projects, complete tasks and delegate specific project tasks to other team members as appropriate.
Assist developing and managing project scope, budget, staffing and schedule.
Prepare contract documents for construction (i.e. engineering drawings and specifications).
May conduct construction inspection services and construction administration.
May provide services during construction that can include submittal reviews, responses to requests for information and contract document clarifications.
Participate in constructability review.
Conduct quality assurance and quality control on projects.
Prepare portions of engineering project proposals, change orders, client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
Attend in house and formal training sessions to ensure continuing professional development
