Your Opportunity
As a Mechanical Technologist, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a team of engineers and technologists on multiple projects, of varying complexity and size, for a range of public and private sector clients. You will participate in the detailed design and construction administration for the mechanical system (HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Process Piping) of a project to help translate designs into reality. Your Key Responsibilities
Assists in the calculation, selection, specification, and detailing of all mechanical systems (HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Process Piping)
Assists in the coordination of mechanical system design and specifications within the context of the multidisciplinary design team
Responsible for reviewing own work for overall technical accuracy
Utilizes BIM technologies (2D and 3D) in development of models of the building mechanical systems and receive markups or direction from senior engineers / designers.
Preparing construction drawings/documents
Ensure the assurance of quality, consistency, and integrity of all deliverables and communication.
Work closely with Mechanical Engineers and Technologists within the engineering group in recommending the best use of project tools to achieve project objectives, troubleshoot and resolve issues with the project tools.
Assist with periodic field reviews of construction and construction administration tasks (conduct shop drawing reviews, respond to RFIs, prepare documentation for site instructions, or change requests).
Provides preliminary drawings/sketches/notes for projects, redlines, and plans for submittals.
Performs thorough quality control of construction documents and provides design ideas and solutions.
Responsible for design of projects of smaller complexity and size, with guidance from senior engineers.
Lead or champion workflow improvements within the team to improve internal design or production processes and to better ensure quality, consistency and repeatability.
