Communication Disorders Assistant
(Speech-Language Pathology Assistant/Early Childhood Therapy Assistant)
Full-time term – 37.5 hours a week
Starting August 19, 2025 – June 16, 2026 (with possibility of extension)
Salary range is
$29.69 - $36.13 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience
RRSP share plan and health/wellness spending account
2 weeks paid vacation at winter break and 1 week at spring break, with 7.7% vacation pay at the end of the term
Excellent opportunity to join the professional team of the Child Development Centre in beautiful Whitehorse, Yukon. Our growing team provides quality early intervention services to children from birth – 5 years of age throughout the Yukon. Relocation allowance of up to $2000 is available.

Responsibilities Include:
Implementing therapy plans focused on communication with individual clients and/or in a group setting, under the supervision of a speech-language pathologist
Collecting data and completing screens as requested
Working with a team, including family members and Child Development Centre staff
Maintaining documentation and other administrative duties as requested
Assisting in the preparation, organization and maintenance of resources
Qualifications:
Communication Disorders Assistant Diploma, Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant Diploma, or equivalent
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Currently enrolled in a related post-secondary program (e.g., Communication Disorders, Speech-Language Pathology, Linguistics, Psychology, etc.)
A combination of relevant work experience and education in a related field
Experience working with young children is an asset
Experience working in a cross-cultural setting
This position is covered by the Public Service Alliance of Canada Collective Agreement.
