Position Description
- Working in coordination with Tim Hortons Product Excellence Department:
- In conjunction with Innovation Team, review and assess new product / concepts prior to Test Markets, ensuring definition of critical characteristics and Packaging expectations are documented in Packaging Requirements Worksheet
- Attend at Supplier(s) sample production runs, and Test Market production runs to ensure product complies with spirit and intent of requirements from the Packaging Requirements Worksheet
- Reach consensus with supplier and Product Excellence that product complies to spirit and intent of Packaging Requirements Worksheet
- “Release” accepted product from sample production and/or Test Market production
- Communicate results of production visits to Product Excellence and Quality Assurance at completion of daily assessment
- Working at the direction of the Lead, QA:
- In conjunction with TH QA, create risk profile and risk mitigation strategies for facility to be producing sample/Test Market production
- Create Action Plan based on risk assessment and during sample production/Test Market production audit facility to ensure compliance to RBI QA requirements and GMP related to production for Packaging Requirements Worksheet
- At a frequency defined by Director of TH QA, audit production facilities throughout Ontario Province to ensure facilities are complying to RBI QA requirements, Corrective Action Plans (as defined) and testing/inspection frequencies as defined in RBI Specifications
- Create audit reports and upload results into SPEQ and create Corrective Action Plans in conjunction with TH QA
- Supporting the Lead, QA as a QC Inspector:
- Directly inspect product during sample trials, Test Market Production and production to assess compliance to:
- Specification
- “Gold Standards”
- “Endorsement” Samples
- Packaging Retain Samples
- Create Inspection Reports for Sensory, Physical and as needed analytical results and upload reports into SPEQ
- In conjunction with Product Excellence and TH QA provide feedback to production facilities during production in terms of product compliance to TH requirements
- Create Corrective Action Plan(s), in conjunction with Product Excellence and TH QA, to address products issues where either the intent of the product or the requirements from the Specification are not in compliance.
- Train Testing Laboratory personnel at Packaging Test Labs
- Provide training and/or feedback on issues defined during QC Inspections, Packaging Facilitation and/or QA Audits at facilities for products
Education
2-year Technical Degree in Quality, Industrial Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology
Experience
- Performing physical inspections with Standard Test & Measuring Equipment
- Proficient at “Open Setup Inspections”
- Knowledge of Vision or other Inspection Systems
- Conversant in Statistical Process Control applications
Certifications
- ASQ Certified Quality Inspector
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer
