CHILDCARE ASSISTANT
Paid Term Position - 35 hours/week for 8 weeks
Department: Norwest Early Learning and Child Care Centre
Location: 105 Lucas Ave
Position: Childcare Assistant –Summer Student
Hours: Term Position-35 hours a week for 8 weeks.
Shift: Available between 7:00 AM-5:00 PM
Salary: $15.80/hour
Qualifications:
Classification as Child Care Assistant (or willing to obtain)
Strong interpersonal and team building skills
Current first-aid and CPR certification
Good understanding of Manitoba Child Care Program’s Regulations
Must be energetic, friendly and enthusiastic
Must be willing to take initiative
Subject to successful criminal record & child abuse registry check.
High School Diploma required & must be attending college or university Sept. 2025
Must complete Commit to Kids online training
Responsibilities
To ensure the physical care and safety of the children.
To provide emotional support and nurturing care to children
To provide children with the opportunity for growth and development
To follow Centre’s behaviour management policy and Code of Conduct
To maintain confidentiality; follow licensing regulations, to follow Centre policies and procedures.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
