Currently, our Station Engineering division has an Engineering Trainee/Engineer opportunity, supporting Engineering Fix It Now (EFIN). This is a permanent, full-time position which offers a competitive benefits, compensation and pension package and is located on site in Tiverton, Ontario. What will you be responsible for? As a member of the Engineering Fix It Now (EFIN), the focus will be on troubleshooting, station support and design modifications. The Engineer is responsible for planning, evaluating, advising, or reporting on any activity which requires the application of engineering principles in the Bruce Power facilities. Specific Responsibilities: Provides technical evaluations, advice and solutions to problems in a number of major work areas; including in support of commissioning, operation and maintenance of Bruce Power facilities. Monitors performance of equipment associated with their functional area to ensure operation is within design, licensing, and operating parameters. Identifies potential problems and opportunities in their assigned functional areas and/or systems. Keeps abreast of maintenance and operating problems and takes action to implement solutions when appropriate. Cooperates with other departments and organizations in arranging tests and maintenance and in providing appropriate documentation as required. Participates in training programs to further own development and assists in the development of others. Prepare or verify design deliverables such as but not limited to: design plans, conceptual engineering reports, design change packages, design change notices, FMEA, calculations, requirement tractability matrices, technical specifications and commissioning reports. In addition, prepare Elementary Wiring Diagrams, Flow Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) and Instrument Uncertainty Calculations. Develop engineering project schedules, budgetary estimates, cost and scheduling reports. Lead or participate in multi-discipline teams to solve problems (Complex troubleshooting, Task Analysis Meetings, Technical Operability Evaluations, Engineering Evaluations, Root Cause Investigations, Internal and External Audits). Performs other duties as required. Knowledge and Skills: High degree of learning agility and adaptability in technically diverse environment is required. Requires the ability to proactively recognize and manage risk. A technical working knowledge in some of the following areas is required: Transformers, generators, switchgear, motor control centers, motors, uninterruptible power supplies; associated protection and control systems. Instrumentation devices and sensors. Pressure and level measurement including Gauge, Absolute and Differential transmitters. Temperature measurement including bridge cards, transmitters, RTDs and thermocouples. Flow measurement including orifice, venturi, pitot tube, Rotameters, square root extractors. Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and various field bus technologies. Process control strategies including PID, feed-forward and cascade systems. Wireless sensor networks using various protocols. Radio systems. A working knowledge in the some of the following areas is required: Familiar with qualification of digital hardware and software standards such as CSA N290.14. Familiar with cyber security standards such as CSA N290.7. Familiar with industry fire protection codes associated with CSA N293. Familiar with international standards such as IEC 61508, 61513 and 61226. Previous experience with reliability engineering or asset management will be considered as an asset. Education and Experience: Engineer (Occupation Code 670325) Completion of a 4-year University degree. Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Control Engineering, Mechatronics considered an asset. An Ontario Professional Engineering designation is required (P.Eng.). A period of over 6 years up to and including 8 years of experience is considered necessary. Engineer Trainee (Occupation Code 670207) Completion of a 4-year University degree. Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Control Engineering, Mechatronics considered an asset. Required to be working towards a valid Professional Engineers of Ontario certification within 2 years. A period of over 2 years and up to and including 4 years of experience is considered necessary.
