Job Overview: BEST is looking for a self-motivated individual to help us develop and implement an environment friendly program, ensure personnel are properly training for environmental hazards, and over see environmental health and safety audits.
Job Location: Kitchener, ON
Duties and Responsibilities:
Inspect and sort all types of waste streams using proper PPE to create diversity reports
Create reports to show progress on target goals; proficiency of excel would be an asset
Monitor field work to ensure compliance with company standards, procedures specifications and codes
Monitor, advise and educate staff on environmental issues and programs
Oversee recycling efforts of custodial staff
Travel to each campus to ensure environmental requirements are met
Plan, implement, monitor and report on environmental initiatives
Oversee annual waste audit and work with environmental organizations
Work closely and attend meetings with the Sustainability Committee on campus
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Diploma or Degree in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Able to work in a diverse environment
Must have a valid Drivers Licence
