POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Manufacturing Engineer supporting our evening shift operations (3:30 PM – 12:00 AM), you’ll play a vital role in supporting production activities, driving process improvements, and championing lean manufacturing initiatives. You’ll thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where curiosity, teamwork, and problem-solving are key to success.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Support evening shift operations within assigned manufacturing cells
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve production challenges
Drive lean manufacturing efforts (5S, value stream mapping, continuous improvement)
Create, update, and train team members on standard work instructions and hot sheets
Design or modify tooling, fixtures, and cell layouts using AutoCAD (NX experience is a plus)
Participate in layout updates and facility improvement planning
Lead or support capital equipment changes, installations, and upgrades
Review and implement engineering change notifications (ECNs)
Conduct contract reviews to ensure production readiness
Support and lead pre-production meetings and documentation reviews
Represent manufacturing engineering at daily cell meetings and plant metrics reviews
Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and champion process changes
Foster a positive, team-oriented atmosphere on the shop floor
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
Post-secondary education in an engineering discipline or equivalent hands-on experience
Experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment is strongly preferred
Working knowledge of AutoCAD for facility or layout updates (NX is an asset)
Understanding of press brakes, tube lasers, tube benders, welding, or metal fabrication is a strong asset
Demonstrated experience applying lean principles in a production setting
Strong presentation and communication skills to convey technical ideas clearly
Self-starter with a naturally curious mindset and a drive to solve problems
Comfortable working independently on an evening shift, while contributing to a collaborative team
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
