The Role In this role, you will work on a variety of projects to implement and improve AspenTech's control systems and provide ongoing customer support to ensure reliable performance and world-class customer satisfaction. Working from AspenTech’s Montreal office, and from company and customer sites across North America as required, the successful applicant will contribute to project delivery excellence in support of utility customers in the energy generation transmission and distribution industries. Your Impact Provide loyalty-inspiring customer service that drives user engagement and sustains product usage. Design, plan, integrate, test and commission hardware and software requirements on customer systems. Evaluate contract specifications and define project requirements through customer communication and communicate the requirements to other departments as necessary. Provide networking and system/application design. Perform hardware, software and system installation, integration, and testing for projects. Customize system, hardware and network configuration based on customer requirements. Troubleshoot & resolve complex technical and/or engineering related problems reported by customers using AspenTech’s proprietary software. Responsible for the escalation of customer issues and driving the resolution cross-functionally within AspenTech. Deliver high-quality intermediate/advanced level training classes, based on the relevant principles of engineering and industrial processes, to AspenTech customers. Develop and/or maintain customer focused training materials for new releases and new applications in the industry. Uncover and analyse client/prospect needs to support growth in usage. Develop strong relationships with customers, building an understanding of their business needs and challenges. Potentially serve as the key person dedicated to maintaining the relationship between AspenTech and one or several important customers. Collaboration with other AspenTech functions to maintain and develop business opportunities. Participate in AspenTech’s pre-release software testing program to drive improved product quality. Other tasks may include: Conduct health checks on assigned accounts; deliver onsite support and consultancy; deploy AspenTech solutions in customer business environments; execute various departmental improvement projects as needed; author technical white papers for publication to AspenTech’s web knowledgebase. What You'll Need Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience. Bachelor’s in engineering or related field experience required. Electrical, computer, physics, or systems is preferred. Previous experience with AspenTech SCADA software or another advanced tool from another vendor is a plus. Language requirement French: A1 (advanced) and English level C1 (advanced), the position requires interactions with international clients. Knowledge of computer programming. Introduction to C programming at minimum. Knowledge of computer architectures, networking, databases, and operating systems. Excellent organization, interpersonal and leadership skills. Strong commitment to providing superior customer service. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical troubleshooting skills Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner utilizing strong written and verbal communication skills. The ability to identify opportunities that create value for customers with a strong customer first mindset. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and competing priorities. Familiarity with public utilities is a plus. Ability to travel to customer sites across North America, on occasion to other customer and company sites globally and potentially more frequent in the province of Quebec. Quebec engineer certification (OIQ) is a plus.
