Mortgage Administrator
Contract opportunity in the insurance industry for an experienced mortgage administrator in Waterloo. Responsibilities:
• Address complex and escalated queries from internal and external clients, including advisors, lawyers, and sales teams.
• Respond to inquiries in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
• Investigate issues using internal bank systems and escalate monetary decisions or exceptions as needed.
• Recommend solutions within approved parameters.
• Set up and administer new loan business and process related financial transactions.
• Prepare complex loan documentation for commercial lending.
• Analyze and interpret various loan documents such as business declarations and commitment letters.
• Ensure receipt and accuracy of documentation from lawyers and advisors.
• Follow up on incomplete or incorrect submissions.
• Maintain accurate records to meet compliance and audit requirements.
• Input and manage documents using AWD.
• Identify workflow or training gaps and recommend improvements.
• Meet service level agreements and escalate concerns to the manager when necessary.
• Act as an escalation point for client complaints or concerns.
What you will need to succeed:
• Post-secondary education.
• Completion of a university degree or college diploma in a related field is preferred.
• Paralegal or law clerk designation, or completion of a legal assistant program, is considered an asset.
• 3–4 years of experience in a customer service or administrative/clerical role.
• Previous experience in the banking industry.
• Experience working in high-volume, fast-paced environments.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Bilingual in English and French to support clients in both languages is an asset but not required.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Knowledge of specialized lending products is an asset.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment across multiple locations.
• Confident in decision-making and accountability for outcomes.
