JOB POSTING Summer Recreation Leaders Temporary (7 Positions) Under the supervision of the Musqueam Indian Band Recreation Manager and other regular Recreation staff the Summer Recreation Leaders will work in a dynamic teamwork environment to plan and deliver a fulsome summer program for youth aged 5 – 12 years. Youth/students should be prepared to act as role models and to create safe spaces for younger youth. Duties: Create monthly/weekly schedules and community notices. Prepare activities and supervise activities on and off site. Supervise and participate with children and youth in activities. Communicate with community members and recreation staff regarding the program. Maintain a work journal, fill out incident reports, and make progress reports to Recreation staff. Assistance with community events as needed. Knowledge and Abilities: Willingness to work with children and youth. Willingness to work with a large team to ensure the successful delivery of the program. Some experience in working with children and youth would be an asset. Must be self-motivated and able to work under minimal supervision. Must have good communication skills and enjoy working in dynamic environments with children and youth. Must be prompt and reliable. Must have a Social Insurance Number Proficient use of computers and Word/Canva/Excel is an asset. Working Conditions: Work is performed on and off-site.
