The Manager, Healthcare Strategy and Planning plays a vital role in shaping and executing the strategy for Manulife Group Benefits' healthcare initiatives in Canada. This role focuses primarily on developing and implementing strategies and initiatives across various health areas critical to our sponsors and members, as well as managing our national health partnerships strategy from concept ideation to deal execution. Position Responsibilities: This role offers a unique opportunity to build key health initiatives within Manulife Group Benefits. In this position, you will be responsible for the following: Strategy Development and Execution Research and Discovery: Conduct comprehensive ecosystem scans to stay informed about industry trends and emerging healthcare technologies, ensuring our strategies remain relevant and impactful. Opportunity Analysis: Independently work with complex datasets to generate insights that inform decision-making on which health opportunity areas or initiatives warrant further investment. Proposal and Business Case Development: Develop and build business cases (including financial models) to support internal initiatives and/or partnership engagements. Execution and Delivery: Collaborate with various cross-functional teams (e.g., marketing, distribution, legal) to help bring new health innovations to market that align with the goals of our sponsors and members. National Health Partnerships Strategy Financial Due Diligence: Conduct in-depth research and due diligence to identify and qualify potential partners and corporate development target companies, with specific focus on skills such as financial statement analysis, business valuation techniques & methodologies, and building and assessing P&Ls. Concept Ideation and Partner Engagement: Collaborate on the ideation and development of partnership concepts, establish evaluation criteria, and engage with potential partners to explore collaboration opportunities. Pipeline Management: Actively manage the partnership development pipeline, ensuring a steady flow of potential opportunities. Track, report, and provide insights on the progress and challenges of partnership initiatives. Implementation Coordination: Support the coordination and implementation of new partnerships, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business needs and objectives. Required Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in strategy and partnership development. Strong financial and business acumen to assess partners and corporate development targets. Advanced financial modeling and due diligence capabilities. Deep understanding of the Canadian health innovation landscape. Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Analytics, or a related field. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in both strategy consulting and industry roles. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams.
