Job Description
The Opportunity:Under direct supervision of the Food Services Supervisor, the Food Service Aide is primarily responsible for duties related to (but not limited to) the serving of all menu items to our residents, assigned inventory maintenance and ensuring a sanitary environment.Key Responsibilities:• Performs meal service as required relating to beverage and meal service, plating of food, clearing and cleaning of dining rooms etc.• Assists residents with menu selection as required and serves food and beverages to residents in designated areas• Responsible for the setting, clearing, cleaning, and sanitizing of resident dining and service areas• Collects and strips trays for dish washing• Conveys residents’ complaints to Dietary Supervisor• Sanitation of food delivery tools and equipment (eg. steam well etc.) with a clear focus on resident satisfaction is required.• Performing other food related duties as requiredJob Responsibilities
Prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
Safely utilizes a variety of utensils including knifes
Arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
Maintains excellent customer service and positive attitude towards guest, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation
Ensures security of company assets
Other duties and tasks as assigned by manager
Qualifications
Previous experience in food prep or food service related work preferred
Knowledge of various food prep methods, proper knife handling, and food safety regulations such as proper food handling, sanitation, and storage preferred
Must be able to obtain required food safety certification
Demonstrates basic math and counting skills
Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 25 lbs.
