Landmark Solutions Ltd. (Landmark) has an immediate opening for an experienced Heavy Equipment
Technician / Heavy Duty Mechanic with Journeyperson Certification to join our team. This position is instrumental in ensuring all equipment is maintained and functioning in the support of our company’s continued success. This is a full-time year-round position. The shift rotation for this position is 5x2 based out of our Salmon Arm repair shop.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
This position is an integral part of the Landmark team. The Heavy Duty Mechanic will work with safety as a top priority while diagnosing and completing repairs of our Landmark owned fleet of heavy equipment and light vehicles.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Perform preventative maintenance, diagnose, and repair heavy equipment as required.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized or other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
• Focus to detail on completing repairs to heavy equipment.
• Make recommendations regarding extent of repairs and suggest methods of improvement.
• Think logically and keep up with changes in technology.
• Input cost codes for work orders for repairs.
• Continue to stay up to date on changing mechanical information and technical manuals.
• Complete job specific safety reports through Site Docs.
• Have a strong awareness and attitude towards workplace health and safety.
• Motivated and able to work in a challenging environment with minimal supervision.
• May work remotely in adverse weather conditions.
• Job tasks may be physically demanding lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Confined Space work is required.
SPECIFIC SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
The successful candidate will possess a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification with 5 years of heavy equipment repairs experience.
Other requirements include:
• Strong commitment to safety.
• 5 years experience in repair/maintenance of heavy equipment and commercial transport vehicles- automotive mechanical experience an asset.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Some travel to remote sites for field repairs may be required.
• Experience with some or all the following equipment: John Deere, Caterpillar, Volvo, Hitachi, Kenworth, is an asset.
• Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset.
• Welding experience is an asset.
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License with clean driving record and the confidence to drive safely in a variety of road conditions. Class 3 with Air is an asset.
• Work well in a team environment.
