Position Overview:
The Admissions Advisor plays a key role in supporting the growth and success of the Ontario Institute of Health and Innovation (OIHI) by generating leads, increasing student enrollment, and providing exceptional service to prospective students. This position involves proactive outreach, relationship building, and ongoing communication with prospective students, as well as representing OIHI at recruitment events and community engagements. The ideal candidate is goal-driven, personable, and passionate about post-secondary education in the healthcare field.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Generation & Conversion
Actively generate and follow up with prospective student leads through various channels (online inquiries, phone calls, email, social media, referrals, etc.)
Guide prospective students through the admissions process from inquiry to enrollment, ensuring a positive experience at each touchpoint
Track and meet enrollment targets in alignment with departmental goals
Student Engagement & Support
Respond promptly and professionally to prospective student inquiries via phone, email, virtual platforms, and in-person
Provide detailed information about OIHI programs, admission requirements, and student support services
Maintain accurate records of all interactions in the CRM system
Events & Community Outreach
Attend and support recruitment events, career fairs, open houses, and community engagements to promote OIHI’s program offerings
Deliver presentations and information sessions to diverse audiences
Collaborate with marketing and communications to support promotional initiatives
Admissions Processing & Documentation
Review and process student applications, ensuring all required documents are complete and accurate
Issue letters of acceptance and related admission correspondence in a timely manner
Prepare and issue enrollment contracts in accordance with institutional and regulatory standards
Maintain accurate and confidential records of all application and admissions documents in the student information and CRM systems
Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements throughout the admissions process
Collaboration & Reporting
Work closely with academic and student services departments to ensure a seamless admissions experience
Provide regular reports on lead conversion metrics, event outcomes, and prospective student feedback
Participate in team meetings and training to stay up to date with program updates and best practices
Qualifications:
Post-secondary diploma or degree in business, education, communications, or a related field
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in admissions, recruitment, sales, or customer service (experience in a post-secondary setting is an asset)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly
Strong organizational and time management skills; able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours, including evenings and weekends as required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using CRM systems
Working Conditions:
Primarily onsite at the Toronto campus, with occasional travel to recruitment events or partner locations
Flexibility in schedule required to accommodate evening/weekend events and urgent inquiries
