Overall Requirements:
Our Engineering Department is looking for a new teammate, someone who is an experienced, high-energy hardware engineer with a solid understanding of electronics. If you have a talent for thinking out of the box, and creativity when it comes to solving problems that seem to have no solution, we are looking for you.
Responsibilities:
Troubleshooting of complex systems, engaging in advanced problem-solving with limited to no documentation available
Develop new, improve existing and evaluate diagnostic and repair methods and test procedures suitable for a wide range of legacy and new electronic products
Reverse-engineer medium to complex electronic boards, modules and systems with the goal of developing improved test capability
Use of lab test equipment while performing advanced electronic measurements
Configuration of complex telecom systems
Automate tests and diagnostic processes
Develop In-circuit reprogramming methods
Identify solutions for component obsolescence, again this need will require creativity and imagination
Work in sync with the purchaser to determine product specifications
Help facilitate production capabilities and processes
Write technical specifications, train test personnel, present technical demos – helping others is critical to our success
Education & Experience:
A bachelor's degree in relevant engineering discipline
5+ years of relevant experience
Additional Qualifications:
Working knowledge of electronic components, their function, main electrical parameters and typical failure modes
Solid working knowledge of both legacy (asset) and current ICs, both digital and analog, microcontrollers, interfaces and protocols
Effective troubleshooting of complex electronic PCBs in lab environment
Proficient in electronic prototyping, design and performing electronic measurements
Ability to develop and document diagnostics, test procedures, etc.
Ability to engage in technical discussions with the engineering team
Experience with projects in Defense area is an asset
Experience in Telecom systems is an asset
Experience in RF troubleshooting is an asset
Experience in LabVIEW development is an asset
Experience in PCB Layout design is an asset
