We are seeking Technical Officers for future temporary opportunities or contract opportunities through a vendor partner at the Bruce Power site. These dynamic opportunities require individuals who thrive in a fast paced and integrated team environment. The Technical Officer evaluates, considers, and proposes solutions for major and minor work areas at Bruce Power. They update instructions and procedures, prepare reports, review external proposals, participate in training programs, and periodically supervise assigned staff Technical Officers support MCR Ready for Service as oversight ensuring projects are complete and ready to be turned over to Operations for commissioning. They manage closeout processes, collect completion documentation, and oversee execution of Commissioning, Engineering Change, Work Management, Project Management, Contractor Management, and Quality Assurance. The closeout processes progressively collect documentation, leading to System Window Closeout and Return to Service Control Hold Points (RCHP) when systems are returned to service. Key Responsibilities: Dispositions from Operations/Engineering will determine which Tasks, DCR’s, TCC’s and DCNs will be required for Return to Modified Service (RMOS). Disposition work order tasks that have been Flagged RMOS prior to return to modified operating state. Participation in field walkdown prior to RMOS declaration Disposition all open work task items related to field work relating to CCD and pre-planning of RFS Soil Process Review and disposition of new/proposed work, SRP/KDFs, PMID’s, and system bundles Complete project reviews and FORM-14441 Disposition remaining work order tasks that are flagged as SAFO items in the SOIL list (Field Verifications, Cold Commissioning, Remaining Field work, etc.) Review and disposition DCR’s and TCC’s related to system/system bundle. Confirmation of credited PMID’s and submission of PMCR’s for completed MOD’s Provide system health reports to environmental for disposition Participation in joint system walkdowns with key stakeholders Provide technical evaluations, problem solving, and coordination of technical work Assessment, evaluation, and recommendation of initial disposition of problems Receives approval and discusses proposed solutions, as required Keeps abreast of maintenance and operating problems and takes action to implement change as appropriate Cooperation with other departments and organizations for tests and documentation Keeps abreast of new developments in the field for use in incorporating same in department equipment or operation Cooperation with other departments and organizations for tests and documentation Maintenance and updating of operating and departmental procedures Preparation of reports and presentations On a periodic basis, supervision of staff involved in the above activities Performs other duties as required Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrate the ability to achieve task results consistent with safety, quality, timelines, and resource allowance Demonstrate the ability to interact positively with others by developing trust, mutual respect and cooperative working relationships Demonstrate dedication and commitment to ensuring project success and meeting project needs Demonstrate good written and oral communication Education and Experience: This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired through the successful completion of an accredited four-year university education in an appropriate engineering or science field or having the equivalent level of education A period of over 6 years and up to and including 8 years is considered necessary to gain this experience Are you ready for a change?
