Whether by phone, email or in person, your communication skills are top-notch. What you’ll do Report to the Claims Supervisor. Settle litigated injury/liability claims in a fair and timely manner. Investigate, evaluate and negotiate bodily injury claims with plaintiff counsel or through defense counsel to equitably settle claims. Adhere to company Bodily Injury Guidelines. Assess information and case law to form arguments to defend liability position. Foster strong working relationships within the Claims Department, other business units and industry partners. Travel, as required. What you’ve done You have a high school diploma or equivalent (bonus points for related post-secondary education). You have or are working towards your CIP/FCIP designation from the Insurance Institute of Canada. You’re no newbie — you have at least 2 years of bodily injury claims adjusting experience and 5 years or more of adjusting experience. You have a strong knowledge of litigation file handling procedures, case law, medical terminology and common injuries.
