The Role
This role will be a member of the Edge Services Development team working on our network function virtualisation (NFV) platform. A successful candidate will also be helping to build and maintain a continuous integration environment for our network platform and services. This role allows a considerable amount of autonomy to build tools and implement workflows to ensure we maintain our position as a market-leading service provider.

What You'll Be Doing
Designing and developing the platform that runs our MCR and MVE products.
Automating and optimising the deployment of NFV instances (virtual machines) around the world.
Designing an interface for NFV vendors to self-manage their product offerings using something like cloud-init.
Server hardware design, testing, configuration and procurement.
Building a test suite to put new images through some standard validation to ensure suitability for use on the underlying platform.
Modernise tooling and building CI pipelines to increase test coverage.
Contribute your ideas to evolving the product and delivering value directly to customers.
What We Are Looking For
Experience designing physical server configurations intended for hosting highly-available virtual machines.
Experience in designing, optimising, implementing, and scaling linux-based infrastructure.
Proactive self-starter with a strong eagerness to learn, a positive attitude, and the ability to take initiative
Significant expertise with configuration management tools (eg Ansible, Salt).
Experience writing software in a language like Python, Go or similar.
Experience with DevOps methodologies, Git/GitLab, CI/CD pipelines and technologies, Docker and Kubernetes, Ansible.
Understanding of Networking principles such as Routing and Switching, Firewalls, ACLs.
Understanding of the major cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
Desirable: Experience with configuring Network Function Virtualisation solutions such as SD-WAN or Virtual Routers from major vendors such as Cisco.
Bonuses: Experience in configuration management platforms, monitoring systems, database administration, containerisation technologies, procurement.
