ResponsibilitiesMayo Clinic Arizona is seeking a fellowship-trained Head and Neck/Microvascular Surgeon to serve as Division Chair of Head and Neck Surgery.
The Head and Neck Surgery Division, within the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, has a thriving multidisciplinary cancer clinic that includes all aspects of head and neck cancer care: Ablative head and neck surgery, transoral laser microsurgery/transoral robotic surgery, complex reconstructive and microvascular surgery, endocrine surgery, skull base surgery supported by excellent neurosurgeons, outstanding medical and radiation oncology partners, and a collaborative patient-centered care model.
The opportunity offers the appropriate person to rapidly attain clinical, academic, teaching, and leadership experience:
- Lead the Head and Neck Surgery Division and contribute to strategic development, mentorship, and clinical program growth.
- Rapidly establish a high-volume head and neck and reconstructive surgery practice with strong mentorship and collaborative support.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues in the treatment of head and neck cancer.
- Benefit from Research and Innovation support and time.
- Work one-on-one in a mentorship and educational role with Mayo Clinic Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery residents in an apprenticeship model that has been in existence since the inception of the Mayo Graduate Education Program.
- Partner with the department chair and executive team to guide the overall vision and growth of the department.
Qualifications- MD, DO, or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
- Fellowship training in an accredited Head and Neck Surgery Fellowship with advanced microvascular training.
- BE/BC with the American Board of Otolaryngology.
- Eligibility for licensure in the state of Arizona.
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
