Your opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager, Academic Programs, the Academic Programs Office is a cross-functional team responsible for coordinating the essential, day-to-day administration of the Daniels Faculty's degree programs (Undergraduate Programs, Research Stream Programs, and Graduate/Professional Programs). This includes supporting instructors and teaching assistants; coordinating course evaluations and program accreditations; and executing examination procedures. Additionally, the incumbent works closely with faculty program directors to implement programming, to schedule meetings and events, and to organize logistical details for guests and visitors.
The Academic Programs Officer will be assigned a portfolio of academic programs (Undergraduate Programs) – as an area of focus for their ongoing work, while providing periodic support for all other Daniels academic programs as required.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Analyzing statistical information to inform enrollment projections and planning
- Analyzing service delivery and/or internal processes and recommending improvements
- Developing and maintaining procedures for administration of examinations
- Coordinating the preparation and distribution of program and/or course material
- Coordinating accreditation and/or program audit processes
- Conceptualizing, organizing and executing event activities
- Interpreting guidelines to determine the eligibility of graduate students for teaching assistantships.
- Coordinating work-integrated learning activities.
- Tracking and monitoring distribution of awards and financial aid
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum four (4) years of recent and relevant experience coordinating and administering undergraduate and/or graduate academic programs preferably in a post-secondary environment
- Experience coordinating the preparation of program and/or course material
- Experience conceptualizing, organizing and executing events and/or programming
- Experience analyzing statistical information to inform enrollment projections and/or planning
- Experience updating/ recommending internal process improvements
- Excellent planning, organizational, and prioritization skills
- Demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills; Proven time management skills
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft 365 Products: e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Teams and SharePoint Online
- Ability to de-escalate and resolve complaints
- Ability to interpret and apply complex policies and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team to achieve common goals
- Demonstrated ability to empathize and understand the needs of students from a wide variety of backgrounds and orientations
Assets (Nonessential):
- Knowledge of ROSI and associated University systems
- Experience in accreditation and/or program evaluation processes
- Familiarity with the principles of work-integrated learning
- Experience in recruitment and/or training
- Experience with CUPE Local 3902 Unit 1 undergraduate and graduate program procedures
- Experience developing and maintaining procedures for administration of examinations

USW Pay Band 12 -- $81,312. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $103,986. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
