Your opportunity:
Working within the Executive Programs Department, as the Digital Learning Instructional Designer, you will be responsible for managing the development of online course content for various programs and initiatives, building digital learning modules that provide training and support for students, staff and faculty across a wide range of topics using a variety of software, and working collaboratively with department subject matter experts to help design and develop content and ensure adherence to branding guidelines.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Advising instructors on strategies for developing and delivering curriculum
- Consulting with instructors, administrators and student groups on the development of tailored programming needs
- Developing digital learning modules and online assessments using existing software for instructional purposes
- Developing and implementing components of instructional programs
- Developing instructional design plans for use in teaching contexts involving educational technologies
- Conducting detailed analysis and evaluation to inform program planning activities
- Advising instructors on strategies for developing and delivering curriculum
- Researching and recommending educational technologies and best practices related to teaching and learning
Essential Qualifications:
- Master's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years experience in online education program planning, as well as instructional technology support
- Knowledge of online educational tools, demonstrated expertise in educational pedagogy, including experience in pedagogical principles, delivery and evaluation of online learning
- Demonstrated experience in working with faculty and staffto develop online curricular and co-curricular content
- Experience working with a range of digital learning authoring tools and learning management systems
- Good knowledge about online resources, including assessment and evaluation
- Good knowledge of industry standards and emerging trends in A/V and digital learning technology
- Demonstrated experience with video filming and editing
- Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to work well under pressure, both individually and as a team member
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Strong and effective analytical and organizational ability skills to develop good working relations among staff, clients and peers
- Excellent written and oral communication skills

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone: USW Pay Band 14 -- $91,677. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $117,242. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
