Number of Openings: 1 Worker Type: Permanent Position Overview: The Crankshaft Salvage Technician is responsible for inspecting, identifying needed scope of repairs and remanufacturing industrial application engine crankshafts and camshafts. Job Description: Efficiently, effectively, and accurately complete all steps in the remanufacturing process for every component in a major product family (up to and including straight shafts and armatures to 78 inches in total length, etc.). May perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Machinist Journeyperson ticket, or interprovincial Red Seal, is required. Preference given to those who fall within the value stream & qualify as defined in Schedule C. (Internal candidates) Multiple years’ working experience and competency in a crank, block salvage or machine shop Proficiency grinding industrial crankshafts is preferred Proficiency operating cylindrical grinding equipment Strong organizational skills and ability to follow work instructions. Must be able to communicate written and spoken English effectively. Ability to regularly lift and handle material weighing up to 40 pounds. A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work in a safe manner and comply in all aspects of the organizations policies and procedures. Note: This posting is for a static afternoon shift scheduled Monday to Thursday, 10 hours per day.
