This position requires knowledge of the heavy construction industry. Specifically the practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality control and safety associated with this industry. You must be proficient at the following tasks: building wood and advanced formwork systems and pouring and placing concrete.

Job Description
Build, layout and execute wooden forms and advanced formwork systems as required, according to specifications with the ability to make calculations depending on grades
Ensure forms are properly designed and on grade to meet construction specifications for the project
Use of levels and measuring tapes in the use of setting forms to grade with minimal supervision
Construct chutes, forms and align form panels for pouring concrete
Fill form with concrete material, compact with tamper/compactor to required grade
Observe and comply with all health and safety regulations and ensures any apprentices under your direction comply
Work with and maintain all tools in a safe manner
Respect and respond to direction given
Construct and/or assemble and dismantle scaffolding as needed
Handle and transport job materials to the work area as needed
Perform other related duties, including minor duties of other trades where certification is not required and the work does not exceed own limitations
Requirements
3-5 years of experience working with various types of formwork in heavy construction
Must have advanced formwork experience (Doka or Logo form systems are an asset)
Experience with walls up to 5 meters
Experience with shoring at 5 meters high
Residential basement formwork experience is an asset
Concrete pouring experience and flat concrete finishing experience is an asset
Knowledge of safe operation of tools
Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures
Hoisting and Rigging experience is an asset
Valid WHMIS, Health and Safety Awareness Training for Workers and Working at Heights certificates are required.
Elevated/Aerial Work Platform and Confined Space training is an asset
