Purpose of Job:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Retail Lending Technology, the Director, Technology Delivery is accountable for implementing and managing strategic technology solutions that meet current and future business needs. The incumbent will ensure consistency and integrity of the design and delivery of functional capabilities across multiple cross-functional business-led and technology-led initiatives. The Director, Technology Delivery will lead strategic and roadmap planning for key technology solutions that enable business outcomes, as well as will manage multiple cross-functional pods dedicated to launching new technology products, features, and delivering ongoing business value.
The Director, Technology Delivery is accountable for assessing business needs, designing, and implementing secure and scalable technology solutions to serve the Bank’s customers and grow the business. They must assist in the identification of opportunities and develop technology recommendations to minimize risk, improve service capability and reduce costs. They will be required to evaluate technology, tools, frameworks and patterns and provide expert advice to reach decisions or executive recommendations.
Within their scope of activities, the Director, Technology Delivery is expected to establish and apply standards and controls to support consistency, quality, compliance and supportability. The Director, Technology Delivery will also continually monitor and manage vendor partners/suppliers, including financial and contract management. They will drive a focus on excellence and innovation in software testing practices across the portfolio and ensure that the team is delivering quality technology solutions that enable business outcomes.
The Director, Technology Delivery should be internally motivated and constantly strive to find innovative ways to enhance capability, methodology and practice; always looking to maximize business value by balancing strategic technology plans with speed of delivery.

Main Activities:
Build, support, maintain, and evolve key systems and platforms to enable prioritized business outcomes.
Provide leadership to a team, inspiring a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement.
Act as a strategic partner to business stakeholders in identifying, planning, delivering and enhancing technology solutions.
Ensure compliance with project delivery methodology as applicable to each initiative and contribute to continuous improvement of practices.
Set the strategic direction and roadmap for our QE practises.
The incumbent will run a team with a fair degree of independence and will oversee the smooth execution and delivery of large, complex solutions and programs.
Understand the business, tech domain(s), and oversee the design of solutions that meet the bank’s needs & drive maximum value.
Manage estimation, capacity planning, and releases across the PODs.
Create technical standards and multi-year technology roadmaps that align with the organizational roadmaps and enable business outcomes for the Retail Lending portfolio.
Manage vendor sourcing, contracts, costs and budgets for the portfolio overall, including ongoing tracking of SLAs and delivery commitments.
Establish and manage governance and relationships with key suppliers and partners to ensure ongoing quality and support.
In partnership with security, compliance, privacy, infrastructure, and platform teams, plan, design and verify that solutions meet enterprise and regulatory security requirements and standards.
Evaluate new or alternative technologies that aligns, expands or enhances the Bank’s current technology landscape and/or aligns to the Bank’s business needs or future direction.
Provide strategic guidance, technical leadership and consultation to lines of business and development teams.
Perform analytical, technical, and cost analyses to support the planning, design, implementation and ongoing administration and management of systems.
Ensure high availability and stability of platforms, continually looking for opportunities to elevate the performance of the applications.
Apply design principles to ensure that the cost effective use of resources is balanced with maintaining system availability, supportability, and integrity.
Contribute to departmental activities and programs by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
Demonstrate strong people leadership, ability to form effective teams, assess talent, develop people, coach and mentor; frequently perform team assessment and evaluate team based on goals and expectations.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements:
10+ years of experience working with tech teams.
Experience at a fintech or Canadian financial institution is a plus.
Proven record of delivering strategic technology projects on-time and on-schedule.
Excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal and decision-making skills.
Well-developed leadership skills to achieve results, including the ability to influence and mediate at a senior level.
Ability to adapt to constantly changing technical, regulatory, and compliance environments.
Ability to work in ambiguously defined situations with minimal supervision.
Strong ability to understand and interpret complex information, identify patterns and trends, and develop potential options and recommendations, often with minimal direction to respond to urgent business priorities.
